Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox was born in Aberdeen Scotland on December 25 1954. Dorothy Farquharson is her mother and Thomas Allison Lennox, father. Lennox took classes in piano, flute and harpsichord at the Royal Academy of Music London for three years in the 70s. She was able to survive on a student salary and part-time work to supplement her budget. While in the Royal Academy Lennox was dissatisfied by her performance compared to her student classmates and contemplated a possible alternative path she might follow. Lennox was a flute player in a band named Dragons Playground in 1976. The group broke up shortly before their appearance as a guest on I.T.V's Talent program New Faces. The singer was lead vocalist to The Tourists (a British popband) from 1977 to 1980. The band was where she got to know Dave Stewart and together they formed their duo Eurythmics. Lennox started working on her solo debut album Diva, which was released around 1992. In both commercial terms and critically it was a huge hit. Nostalgia Lennoxs sixth solo album was launched in October of 2014. The C.D. Lennox chose her most loved blues and soul tunes. Lepidoptera is a compilation of four piano improvisations was published by Lennox in May of 2019. The E.P. The first single from her debut album, Now I Letting You Go... was released as the perfect accompaniment to her work of art at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art.
