Annette O'Toole spent her childhood in the Houston studio that was run by mother. In her toddler years she appeared on television for her first time, at the age of two. With her mom were ten years of singing and dancing lessons prior to that, moved in Los Angeles an entire year when she was 13 to see the possibility of being successful in the showbiz. Within two months she was offered her first job: dancing with Danny Kaye on The Danny Kaye Show. "I've made use of my training in dancing and singing to a great extent," she says. The discipline that you gain through this training is beneficial to actors." Her first role as an actor was in My Three Sons, followed by appearances in Gunsmoke, The Partridge Family, The Mod Squad, and Hawaii Five-O. O'Toole's greatest love, despite her film and television success was theatre. The actress decided after her six year run on Smallville was finished, to concentrate on theater exclusively. This is exactly what she's been doing since the start of the decade. She went to New York and her first audition resulted in her being part of The Sea Gull. Her appearances have been in various Off-Broadway shows, including Adam Rapp's Kindness, Tracy Letts' Man from Nebraska as well as Tennessee Williams' A Lovely Sunday for Creve Couer.
